RCCG TEENS TEACHER’S MANUAL LESSON THIRTY – FIVE (35) SUNDAY 26TH OF APRIL, 2020

TOPIC: GLORIFYING GOD WITH YOUR TITHE AND OFFERING

BIBLE TEXT: Malachi 3:8-12

[8]Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

[9]Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

[10]Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

[11]And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

[12]And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

MEMORY VERSE: Proverbs 3:9
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

LESSON AIM:
To teach the teens the importance of paying their tithes and offerings.

CENTRAL TRUTH:
We glorify God when we are obedient to their command.

INTRODUCTION

An offering is something that you give to someone and in context of this study, it is what we give to God as part of our worship or service. It can be in cash or in kind. It is not only in church we give an offering, the Bible says “whatsoever we do to the least of the brethren, you do unto God” Matt. 25:40. So when we give to the poor and the needy among us, we give to God.

STUDY GUIDE

A. What can you offer to God?

  1. Your money
  2. Your body
  3. Your time
  4. Your service
  5. Your life.
Tithe simply means one-tenth of your income set aside for God. This income can be in cash for the people that collect their wages monthly or weekly as the case may be. And it can be in kind, like farm produce. Lev. 27:30 says: ‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the tree, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD.

B. Let us look at our text: Mal. 3:7-12

  1. When we don’t pay our tithe, we turn away from God’s decree. Verse 7: God said the children of Israel have turned away.
  2. When we do not pay tithes, we rob God. Verse 8
  3. When we do not pay our tithes we come under a curse. Verse 9

C. Benefits we derive when we pay our tithes

  1. We bring meat into our storehouse of God.
  2. God will open the windows of heaven upon us.
  3. He will pour out a blessing so much that your room will not be enough to receive it.
  4. We will overflow and be a blessing to people.
  5. God will rebuke the devourer for our sake.
  6. We will not have any loss.
  7. All nations shall call us blessed.
  8. We shall be a delightsome land.

DISCUSSION: Identify various ways you can give to God outside the church

INVITATION/APPLICATION: Do you give offerings, do you pay your tithes, if not, be encouraged to start doing so because it opens doors to our breakthrough?
