RCCG TEENS TEACHER’S MANUAL LESSON FORTY-NINE (49) SUNDAY 2ND OF AUGUST, 2020 TOPIC: THE GLORIOUS HOME

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
[13]But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14]For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15]For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16]For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
[17]Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
[18]Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

LESSON AIM: To prepare for their heavenly home.

CENTRAL TRUTH: We have a glorious home in view, don’t miss yours.

INTRODUCTION:
When we talk about the glorious home of the believer, we refer to heaven where God lives. This is where all Christians that overcame here on earth and led fruitful lives that pleased God will end up. 1Thess. 4:13 also encourages us not to sorrow over those that have died in Christ. We are told that they are only sleeping because they will still wake up into the glorious home of our Lord Jesus Christ.

STUDY GUIDE
A. Let us look at the features of this glorious home. The features include:

  1. God himself will be our God, Father, landlord….. everything. Rev. 21:3&7
  2. There will be no death. No sorrow or pain. No mourning
  3. Jesus will be our light. Rev. 21:23
  4. There will be no sin in heaven. Rev. 21:27
  5. No hunger and thirst in heaven. Rev. 7:16a

B. What shall we see in this glorious home?

  1. Our glorious Father
  2. Our glorious mansion. John 14:2-3
  3. Our glorious city. Rev. 21:10-11
  4. Our glorious body. Phil 3:20-21
  5. Our glorious master Jesus. 1 Thess 4:17

INVITATION/APPLICATION: Think about your eternal home and place your trust in Christ today before He returns (2 Cor. 6:2). Tomorrow may be too late because “if anyone’s name is not found written in the book of life, they will be thrown into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:15).

CONCLUSION: For everyone that lived on earth, there is an eternal destination. It is either of two places, the glorious home of Jesus Christ or hell where Satan is. So everyone, dead now or still alive will end up in either of these two places.
