RCCG TEENS TEACHER’S MANUAL LESSON FORTY FOUR(44) SUNDAY 28TH OF JUNE, 2020 TOPIC: A CHANNEL OF BLESSING

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 12:1-3
[1]Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2]And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3]And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

*MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 12:2
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

LESSON AIM: To let them know why and how they can be channels of blessings to others

CENTRAL TRUTH: You can be a channel of blessing to your generation.

INTRODUCTION
A channel is a medium or a passage through which one thing is linked with another. For God to bless us, He needs a channel or a medium. God will not come down physically to relate with us. He wily rather use man to bless man. God said to Abraham “…….you shall be a blessing……..in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed”

STUDY GUIDE
A. Conditions to be a channel of blessings to others: God wants everyone to be a channel if blessing. However, there are some conditions that must be satisfied for God to make us one.

  1. We must have a relationship with God. Abraham had a good one “and God said to him…………….”
  2. We must be will to be used of God.
  3. We must have a love for people
  4. We must be clean vessels. God cannot use filthy vessels. 2 Tim. 2:21

B. Factors that can prevent one from being a channel of blessing:

  1. Lack of love. 1 John 2:10
  2. Poor attitude
  3. Bad temperament. James 1:20
  4. Keeping bad company 2 Cor. 6:14
  5. Sin
  6. Stinginess. Prov. 19:17

DISCUSSION: Have you been a channel of blessing before? Share your experience with us.

INVITATION/APPLICATION: Have you ever wondered why God may not be blessing you as much as you think He should? It could be because you’ve become a reservoir for God’s blessings, rather than a channel. God has put those blessings in your life so that you can bless others. If you hold them to yourself, they will rot and you life will stink.

CONCLUSION: God promised to bless Abraham so that he can be a blessing. If you bless people with what God has given you, He will bless you with more and more.
